Using the new league calendar, viewing schedules, and viewing scoring updates

The website has evolved technologically and the main goals were to make it user friendly for both the players and non technology savvy board members down the road and to cut down the hosting costs by utilizing as many free services as we can. Also to be able to quickly get information out to league members via the website and social media. Eventually my goal is to suggest a new electable board position for Webmaster who handles this duty going forward.

The schedules and calendar are a little different. Team schedules have been added in PDF format so you can print and distribute to your team easily. If you cannot view them, you need to download the free Adobe Reader.

You can download it here:

Note: Be sure to UNCHECK the Yes, install free McAfee Security Scan Plus box BEFORE you click ‘Install Now’ to avoid installing unneeded programs on your PC.

The full schedules have been added in PDF and text format for those that were struggling with viewing the PDF files. The team schedules are only in PDF format.

The league schedules are also imported into the league calendar. The home team precedes the v. (HOME v. AWAY)

Any schedule changes made by the board will be published then communicated via this site.

The league calendar is simply a google public calendar. I have already posted about how to add it to your phone here:

As far as using it from the league page, simply click on the link off the menu to the left or go here:

When the calendar comes up simply click on week, month or agenda on the top left.

I suggest using the agenda view Agenda will sort it in an easy to read format. You can view earlier events or later event by clicking the appropriate links at the top or bottom of the agenda list.

The scores will be updated on this calendar as well as in a simple  list format on the 2014 Winter Game Results page (which will include both leagues)   here:

If you want to see historical scores, simply go to that page or go to the calendar page view in agenda mode and click look for earlier events.

Scores and standings will be updated as soon as I can do it which will most likely be the next morning if I cannot get to them that evening. There is a separate page for scoring. Standings will be updated on the individual league standing pages.

We had previously discussed updating scores real time after the games however, some  cell phone coverage at the field and simple user training and access are barriers at this time. Hopefully we will be there one day in the future.

Please remember to direct any schedule issues or league issues other than misspellings or other editing mistakes to the league president or vice president. You can find their information here:

I am not responsible for the schedule, league policies, or any other aspect outside of updating the scores, standings, and other information as provided and or requested by board members. If you want to make an announcement on the league page please feel free to email with your request.

Thanks and have a good season!

Schedule update and how to add it to your phone

The schedule is actively being worked on. We hope to have it completed and up before Monday. In the event that this does not happen, the league President will be personally calling all of the managers with the first weeks game times. As soon as we can we will have the entire schedule posted on the site.

The entire schedule will be imported into the Google Calendar. Each team schedule will be put in PDF format and linked to the Team Names on the league season page for printing and handing out to your team.

Game results will be added below the standings on the league pages as they occur either the same night or next morning and I will update the google calendar with the game results as well.

For all you old schoolers who hate technology, or just cannot figure it out, I will also include a PDF format for download of the entire calendar.

You can add the public league google calendar to your smartphones now if you wish

Below are the instructions on how to:

  1. Get the ical of the calendar you want to add. Ours is:
  2. Tap the “Settings” icon, then scroll down and select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars.”
  3. Tap “Add Account” and select “Other.”
  4. Select the “Add Subscribed Calendar” option, fill in the Google Calendar URL above in the Server box and click “Next.” Change any settings you see fit before saving the calendar. You do not need a username or password.
  5. Toggle your view of the subscribed calendar by opening the Calendar app and tapping “Calendars” in the upper left corner. Tap a calendar name to either display or remove calendar events.

This is a two step process:

Step 1 Subscribing to google ical on the web

  1.  Go to Google Calendar on the web:
  2. Choose “Other calendars”
  3. In the dropdown menu, choose “Add by URL”
  4. Insert our calendar’s ical address: click “Add Calendar”

Step 2 Setting up on the phone

  1. On your Android device, you may have to clear the existing calendars and re-sync the data for a new calendar to show up: Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / Calendar -> Clear Data then Settings / Applications / Manage Applications / Calendar Storage -> Clear Data
  2. Wait a few minutes and you should be able to see the new calendar. If it does the new calendar does not show up, also do the following: Settings / Accounts & sync -> select your account, uncheck the “Sync Calendar” option
  3. Wait a few minutes and re-check the Sync Calendar option to see if it shows up. Keep in mind that if you have 2-step verification enabled on your phone, you may have to remove the account entirely and re-add it.
